Message from the HNA President

Hello Neighbors,

Here is some information about things going on in Hodgin and Albuquerque:

**

We are invited to meet and hear from both of our state representatives in NM Congress at Erna Ferguson Library on Wednesday, December 14 from 10:30am-12:00pm. More info is attached or here.

APD reminds us to review these Travel and Holiday Safety Reminders

**

Elizabeth Gomez, Hodgin Elementary Community School Coordinator, and the Hodgin Community School Council invite you to support the school and our community in several ways. Please review the attachments for info about upcoming fundraisers, a giving opportunity, the Walking School Bus route, and Homework Diners. Also, here’s a message about another opportunity:

It’s that time of year again to help support students in need for the Holidays. In the Main hallway of Hodgin Elementary School, next to the front office, we have a giving tree. If you would like to support a student in need for the holidays, please come and get a tag off the tree. Please have all gifts wrapped and in by December 16th. Thank you all from the Hodgin Community School Council!

Remember also we’re collecting art and school supplies for the NM School for the Deaf in our neighborhood:

We are asking for Art Supplies and other items for our N.M. School for the Deaf on Hermosa Dr. NE. Pat will once again have a box on her porch at 3916 Douglas MacArthur NE until Monday, December 16, to FILL IT UP WITH GOODIES, not only for the kids but teachers & other staff too. Some ideas: Puzzles, markers, crayons, pipe cleaners, wiggly eyes, pom poms, feathers, colorful popsicle sticks, ribbons, Elmer’s School Glue. AND Teachers can use almost anything!!!

Pat also has calendars from the Water Authority for 2025, so be in touch with her if you’d like one! malloryabq@msn.com

Check out our website for this information and more, too! https://www.hodginneighborhood.org

Thank you for being part of our neighborhood and an extra thanks if you’re able to participate in any of these events, especially any donations!

Thanks,
Austen

PS A big thanks to several neighbors for stepping up to be board members! At our board meeting in November, we discussed some great ideas to make Hodgin an even better community – now we need someone to replace me as president to get them done. If you’re passionate about Hodgin and have some time and energy, you’ll have some great support and ideas with our board! Let us know. Your comments about dreams for Hodgin at our meeting in October were very helpful and inspiring – we want to make them happen.
